Windows is amidst the most efficient OSs available in the
market, and understandably so. However, despite packing such efficiency, the OS
can face several errors as well. One of them is an internal hard drive showing

Check and Upgrade BIOS - AVG Com Retail
If you would like to check and upgrade BIOS, then abide
by the given steps.

Press Win +R keys at once on your keyboard to
launch the Run dialog section.

You should input command ‘msinfo32.’ Now, select
OK.
·
After reaching Device Information screen, locate
the item labelled ‘BIOS Version/Date.’ Write down its figure.

Then open whichever browser and go to the
motherboard website of manufacturers.
·
You should browse for the model number. Now,
download the applicable updates.

Navigate to the taskbar search section and input
cmd into it.
·
Now, choose ‘Run as administrator.’

You should select Yes on pop-up of User Account
Control.

Then input the ‘devmgmt.msc’ into it and press

Turn off SATA Hot Plug
Press Win + I keys at once on your keyboard to launch the
Windows Settings.

panel, select the ‘Restart now’ tab.

Turn on Write Caching Policy

Go to the Start logo and right-click on it, then
choose the Device Manager.

You should open the Disk Drives.
·
Navigate to internal hard drive (SSD or HDD) and
right-tap on it then select the Properties option.
·
Move to Policies button and make sure that to
tick mark the box beside ‘Write Caching Policy’ option.
·
Finally, click on OK and restart the device.
Change Registry Entries
·
Open Run.
·
Input ‘Regedit.’ Now, click on OK.
·
After entering the Registry Editor and follow:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\storahci\Parameters\Device.

Go to the right-hand side panel of Device key,
right-click on it and choose ‘Multi-String Value.’
·
It should be named’TreatAsInternalPort.’
·
Then twice-click to edit it. On the Value data
section, begin with 0 moving forward with 123 according to the number of ports.
·
The number should be assigned vertically as- 0,
1, 2, 3.
·
The over example is for 4 ports. You have to
enter 0, hit the Enter key, and add remaining numbers.
